Hi, I’m Berry - Those closest to me have always called me BG or Berry Grace. Growing up, I never liked hearing my first and middle name together, whether in full or shortened. But as I’ve stepped into adulthood, I’ve learned to appreciate me (a whole lot more).

Creating Captured By BG is my way of paying tribute to those who always called me by my full name - the same ones I used to roll my eyes at and scoff at so long ago. Now? I think it’s actually a pretty cute name and I have grown to truly love it.

I’ve always jumped at the chance to bring along the “family” camera and could never turn down a sister/cousin photoshoot during the holidays.

Then, in 2023 and again in 2024, I went to Alaska. That’s where my love for photography truly began to thrive. Through nature photography, I realized how much comfort I find in having a camera by my side - it brings me the purest joy.

As I venture into this new world, my goal remains the same: to enjoy it all. It’s such a privilege to capture people’s lives and personalities. The thrill of clicking that button and knowing I’ve captured love, liveliness, bliss, energy, gratitude, passion, devotion, and depth - that feeling is something I want to experience over and over again.

It is through God’s steadfast love that I am able to pursue my passion. As I write this, I pray for every face that crosses my lens and for every piece of nature and aspect of life that our Lord has created. I am forever blessed to witness the beauty of life through my camera. Thank you, Lord, for leading my journey and helping me recognize photography as both an art and a blessing.
